PURCHASING & INVENTORY COORDINATOR

EBM Manufacturing is an industry leader in the production of bulk handling agri-industrial equipment and custom screening technology. We are presently seeking a full time Purchasing and Inventory Coordinator.

General Summary of the Position:

Coordinate and expedite the flow of work and materials within manufacturing or other departments according to production schedule. Duties include reviewing and distributing production, work and shipment schedules; conferring with department supervisors to determine progress of work and completion dates; and compiling reports on progress of work, inventory levels, costs and production problems.

Responsibilities:

  • Process quotes and sales orders for production for call-in orders.
  • Review blueprints/schematics, production schedules and work orders to determine materials requirements &/or priorities.
  • Inventory Control: Coordinate with Fabrication Manager to monitor inventory stock levels.
  • Create bill of materials, purchase orders and order materials for stock and jobs.
  • Communicate with other department managers, engineers/draftsman, sales, manufacturing employees, vendors and customers to coordinate production activities and to understand jobs, resolve complaints and/or eliminate delays.
  • Perform price comparisons, locate vendors and monitor on-time purchase orders, follow up to ensure on time delivery.

 

Preferred Skills:

  • Knowledge of parts and components of manufacturing shop general inventory.
  • Industry knowledge of inventory control practices and procedures.
  • General working knowledge of computers & software including Visual EstiTrack (VET), Auto Cad, Word, Excel.
  • Knowledgeable of and skilled in reading blueprints & schematic drawings.
  • Excellent communication skills – reading/writing/verbal English for efficiency in work assignments, to follow and promote safe work practices, communicate with customers and prepare and transmit consistent, accurate reports and time keeping.
  • Ability to be flexible and organized with time, materials and deadlines.
  • Ability to actively listen to and understand customer wants/needs.
